Governance, security and interconnection of applications through centralized API management
In a modern information system, applications can no longer operate in silos. Data must flow seamlessly between ERP, CRM, business applications, SaaS and cloud platforms. This is the role of APIs: they enable the different application bricks to communicate and create efficient cross-functional processes. However, without governance, the multiplication of APIs leads to duplication, security breaches and high maintenance costs. API Management provides an answer by centralizing the management, security and supervision of your exchanges.
At IT Systèmes, we design and integrate your APIs from the ground up, drawing on all the leading solutions (Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway, Apigee, Kong) as well as our own FlexFlow platform, which combines API Management, orchestration and RPA.

FAQ API Management and Software Interoperability
What is API Management and why is it essential?
API Management involves managing the entire lifecycle of programming interfaces (APIs): design, publication, security, supervision and governance. Without API Management, companies quickly find themselves with a proliferation of APIs created in an uncontrolled way, leading to security breaches, duplication, growing technical debt and high maintenance costs. With API Management, your data flows are centralized, your exchanges are secure, and you have clear governance that improves agility and reduces costs.
What API management tools do you use?
We work on all the leading platforms: Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway, Google Apigee, Kong, as well as our own FlexFlow solution. The choice depends on your business needs, budget constraints and existing environments (on-premise, cloud or hybrid). This technological neutrality enables us to select the most appropriate solution, rather than locking you into an imposed choice.
What is FlexFlow?
FlexFlow is a platform developed by IT Systèmes that combines API management, workflow orchestration and RPA-based automation. It enables you to centralize the management of your APIs, supervise your data flows and pilot complex processes involving several applications. Unlike costly and cumbersome solutions such as Mulesoft or Apigee, FlexFlow can be deployed rapidly, is more cost-effective and offers an intuitive no-code/low-code interface. It is aimed at SMEs and large corporations alike, who are looking for an agile, efficient solution for interconnecting their systems without exploding costs.

What is the added value of FlexFlow compared to Mulesoft?
Mulesoft is a comprehensive solution, but it is often complex to implement and costly to run. FlexFlow offers a simpler, more accessible alternative: quick to learn, integration adapted to heterogeneous environments, low overall cost and extensive functionality including orchestration and RPA. This solution is particularly well-suited to companies looking for fast, scalable and supervised integrations, with a shorter return on investment.

How do you guarantee API security?
Security is built into every project. We use strong authentication (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SSO), TLS encryption, key and token management, quotas and flow controls to prevent abuse, and full traceability through logging. We also provide real-time monitoring to detect suspicious behavior. Our practices comply with RGPD regulations and are aligned with ISO 27001 standards, guaranteeing end-to-end security.
What do you do if a software application doesn't have an API for interconnection?
This is often the case with older business software or certain closed packages. We use FlexFlow to get around this limitation. Two approaches are possible: encapsulation, which consists in creating an intermediate API to expose certain software functionalities, or automation by RPA, which simulates user actions (clicks, inputs, extractions). This approach enables you to integrate even software without an API into your architecture, without having to replace it abruptly.
Why is API documentation so important?
An API without clear documentation is difficult for your developers to use. That's why we produce standardized documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger), published in a dedicated portal. This enables faster adoption by your technical teams, reduces support costs, promotes the reuse of existing APIs and improves the developer experience.
What concrete benefits can my company expect from API Management?
Implementing API Management generates tangible benefits: interoperability between in-house and SaaS applications, reduced costs thanks to API reuse, greater agility in integrating new tools, securing sensitive data flows, better use of data in applications such as AI or BI, and sustainability of the information system thanks to ongoing governance that avoids the proliferation of uncontrolled APIs.
